U-REPORT
EVENT 2022

U-Report India just celebrated 2-Million enrollments with its first ever U-Report National Event held in Delhi and organized to celebrate the young U-Reporters across India who have committed to be a voice of change. The event was full of energy and enthusiasm, and it inspired hope to the many young U-Reporters about the future of U-Report.

Key events included keynote speeches by dignitaries who spoke about U-Report as an agent for girl’s empowerment whist acknowledging youth as the true ambassadors for change at the grassroot level. They shared insights about challenges affecting today's youth and reminded them that they had a stake into the future and should leverage innovation such as U-Report to create potential for positive change. We got to see the interesting journey of U-Report and learn about its potential scalability as a network of young people that can together become champions for India’s vibrant democracy. The role of partnerships for future of U-Report was highlighted as we finally unveiled new initiatives of U-Report India by launching Race to the Next Million campaign, the U-Ambassador programme and the U-News (U-Report Newsletter). Watch full version of the speeches by dignitaries.

The event also celebrated eleven of the most engaged U-Reporters from all around India who were invited to Delhi to be awarded the "Most Valuable U-Reporter" Award. To discuss the potential scaling of U-Report India, an interactive panel discussion moderated by a U-Reporter was hosted at the event with Government and CSO partners to explore and get meaningful insights on the value addition of U-Report. The event did not lack in razzmatazz as we got entertained by one of the most talented young-people musical group “NAS”, who did a Hindi and English fusion musical performance that left everyone enthralled and up on their feet showing off their latest dance moves! It was an ending befitting of our young heroes and a promise of more to come.
